11 September 2013
On the 12th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the United States in general I wanted to take a minute and thank each of you who have, or still serve in any capacity where you run towards the danger and serve your fellow man.
It is a rare and truly noble thing to leave family and home to go out each day, and at times for months, to be among the wolves in order to protect the sheep. Know this today, as you contemplate in your own private way and through your own personal experiences the events of 9/11, that we love and appreciate your acts of valor on our behalf. We honor you and all those from every freedom loving nation that serve. Thank you for your acts and service, from those that are publicly seen and acknowledged to those that are performed in the most quiet and obscure places and ways.
I served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for over a decade and separated from active duty in 1995. Since then as I have been drawn into business and other things, but I have always tried to keep my eye on the core beliefs and purposes for which we stand as a series of nations who love and embrace true freedom. May God bless each of you this sacred day and may your hearts be filled with a spirit of peace and hope as we ponder and remember the lost and fallen, as well as those who still run towards the fray.
